Lately...

This is what I have been up to lately:

No, no... not mastering the art of making elf costumes. Just "learning-how-to-be-an-elementary-school-teacher" stuff.

Let's see... what else???

Bet this caught your attention. You'll see. My creative juices have been flowing abundantly lately.

Well, that's been my life recently. Work, school, small moments that I spend with my boyfriend late at night after I get out of class (not to mention, I'm super tired and hungry by this point-- poor guy), homework annnnnnd eating a lot of fast food. Save me.... no wait, save me from my back side. It's starting to become a planet of it's own. Tootles everyone!! : )

Winner, winner.. chicken dinner.

I'm driving myself insane with my slacker-ness. We all know who won: Jeanin Mason. And i'm totally pumped! But everyone that reads this already knows how pumped I am. However, I can't possibly leave my "Who's it going to be?" post up any longer. So here... it's late... but it's a post. Enjoy!

Top 4!!

Here are your top 4 ladies and gentlemen! Who's it going to be??

Monday, July 20, 2009

Let me fill you in.

It is hard to post blogs about shiney, new engagement rings that weigh a ton, or a handsome, silly husband that surprises you with 2 dozen red roses, or adorable kiddos that always keep you on the go when... You have none of those.

So instead, let me interest you in my latest adventures.

* My Aunt Melynda and her kids have been staying with us the last couple of weeks. It has been exceptionally wonderful having some one visit. I think Nambo and Do Do get exceptionally tired of their strange, adult granddaughter whom won' t leave home. I don't know who that would be?

Which leads me to my next adventure. Remember the little tiny white house I used to live in? (which I loved) Well, it is becoming old, ran down, creepy, taken over by large weeds that I swear only grow in the deepest corners of the dampest rain forests and also has homeless, streetwalkers posting up camp in it and making it their cozy little home. Why, you ask? Well, because it needs a new roof, new carpet, and goodness gracious there is a squirrel living under it so of course no body should live in it! Or at least that is what i'm told.
Here is my question: Why can't my grandparents' strange, adult granddaughter live there???
Good question, huh?! I thought so. I 've asked around and my question is still under construction. I'll keep you all updated when I get an answer. Don't expect too much.

Hmm what else has happened to me lately?? Oh! I start school at a big, bad university on August 11th. I know what you all are thinking... "Psst, Kash... NAU-Distance Learning/Thatcher Campus is not a University!" Well, keep your thoughts to yourself and let a girl dream. 2 more years here and I am off to see what the world has to offer... in an elementary classroom. Should be great!

I think that is about it for now. If an unexpected shiny engagement ring, funny husband, or cuddly child comes my way I will let you know. Tootles!

Road Trip!!

Ryan's cousin, Jimmy, recently got married in Bakersfield, CA and Ryan and I were able to go. We headed out Thursday afternoon from Cavecreek and made it to Ryan's sister's house in Las Vegas around 8 or 9. His sister is so awesome and she was very hospitable. We had yummy steak for dinner that her husband, Joel, made and played with her cute, cute kids. Then the next day we decided to check out the strip before we made our way to CA. Here are a couple of pictures from that day...

That day we drove the rest of the way to Bakersfield. That night we had to go to a wine tasting party at Ryan's aunt and uncle' s house. I'm not a fan of wine, so I stuck to sampling all the cheeses. I had never been to one of those and it was lots of fun. Ryan's name was drawn from a raffle and he won some wine charms. Too bad neither of us drink wine. I told him he could be fancy and put it on the neck of his favorite beer. lol I thought it was funny... he didn't seem to think so. Anyway, the next day was the wedding day. The wedding was held at a really nice country club. It was such a gorgeous wedding... the bride walked out to Somewhere over the rainbow (Hawiann version) and her bridesmaids and groomsman walked out to Moonriver from Breakfast at Tiffany's. I fell in love! Probably because that is my favorite movie! It was such a pretty wedding and Ryan's family is super nice! I made some new friends and met all kinds of his family. It was an awesome trip! I heart road trips!

These were taken on the patio where the ceremony was held and inside at the reception.

These pictures are from the road trip back home. We only got slightly lost once and that is probably because I was the map girl. We were starving and were on a mission to find a Chipotle's. Well, Ryan was bound and determined to follow the map exactly and take some random road that led to the address of the Chipotles but I told him to take the road that leads to resturants, Kohls, Coffee shops, etc... basically a breeding ground for a Chipotle. But we took Ryan's road that led to nothing and so I talked him into going back the other way and lo and behold guess what we found?!... A Qdoba's. Which is basically a Chipotle. So I win! Nee ner nee ner : P

Deep down inside he loves me. I just know it. I think he was tired of my camera work. lol

* I believe this was the intersection that led back to the Chipotle breeding grounds. I was trying to get a picture of his frustrated face, but he kept smiling.. so I stuck my hand in his face to annoy him but he just kissed my hand instead. It was sweet... but I wanted the raw emotion from the little tiff we had! lol Ahh Well.

Week 4? No.. 3.. um 4. haha Umm a kick-off!

Karla and Vitolio were kicked off last week. I was not at all upset. At first I liked Vitolio.. but then he got on my nerves. He was a sweet guy and all there was just something about him. But enough about last week-- this week is going to be intense! Who in the world will they send home now?

This way... not the other..

This is actually the way i'm going to cut my hair. I think it's so cute and my hair has never really had a hair cut this drastic! I'm so excited to have Kaylence do it. What do you guys think? I hope it doesn't resemble the mushroom haircut I had when I ws 5. That would be a shame.

Week 3 kick-offs...

Whoo Hooo Asuka is out of there!! I was not a fan of her. She just didn't do it for me. I did, however, enjoy Jonathon. He wasn't the best of the guys but he was so cute! And I loved, loved, loved the contemporary that he and Karla did. It was so amazing! I need to dig up the music from these awesome dances and put them on my blog! Anyway, here is the kick-off picture. Tootles Asuka!

Vacation...

My work schedule has changed up a bit. I now work only 2 1/2 days instead of 1/2 days spread out through the week. So I took my days and went on vacation! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning I spent some time with Ryan. It was so much fun! And we needed to see each other. (long distance relationships suck!) Anyway, Friday night we went on a cute little date to get ice cream then watched a movie at his house then Saturday we hung out by the pool at his friend's apartment. Oh! And I got a new swim suit which was a bangin deal! 20 bucks! From PacSun and it was a Billabong. Ahhh sales. Then Saturday night we went and saw Year One. It was alright but I wasn't laying on the floor laughing, which I thought I would be doing. Honestly, I just liked sitting in a dark theatre with my boy. lol Then on Sunday morning Ryan took me to Scottsdale Fashion Square.. cause it's my favorite, then we stopped by friend, Kayle's and said hi to her and her husband. (She is cutting my hair soon... I can't wait! I'll post a picture of what it will look like) That afternoon I left Ryan and headed for Tucson. I picked up my sister, Toni and her baby, Vyncent, in Globe then followed my mom, Mark, and Nyk to Tucson. My mom had a conference she had to attend so us girls and Mark hung out for two days. We shopped, swam (I'm bright red!) and just relaxed. It was so, so nice. I was sorry I had to leave : (But the 4th is coming up soon, so looks like the Pearl and I will be on the road again! Can't wait! Ok, whew.. sorry if anyone had to read that. Just letting ya'll know how the vacation went!

Trying to get close enough to pet it.

This duck bit my finger. Devil bird.

I felt like the piper... they followed me all the way back to the room. Then when I woke up this morning there was one sitting on the porch. I felt like the duck whisperer.

This is the hair cut I want... What do you think? Kayle is going to school at Carsten's and the 9th is model day. She is going to cut it for me and color it. For free! I'm pumped! I'll post pictures of it when it's cut.

Oops...

It's been a busy time for me lately... so I completly forgot to update. Since you are all so worried. ha. I don't know why I do this? Guess it's just to keep me entertained. Anyway, here are the kick-offs for last week. Ashley and Max didn't make the cut. I liked Max... well I liked his personality more than his dancing skills. But I wasn't too upset to see either go. They were both mediocre. Can't wait for tonights show!

Update-- Week 1 kick-off

Well, week one has come and gone and my what a good week it was!! I can't believe how good everyone is! It's going to be such an awesome season! Well, Tony and Paris did not make it past the first week. Their dance was just, O.K. I have seen better. This is just my opinion (warning: I give my opinion A LOT on these updates... just a heads up : ) )

Here is the kick-off picture. Can't wait for next weeks dances!

Ahhh... love this show.

I couldn't get this video to down load to my post but I do have the link. This link will take you to possibly the funniest audition... ever! Please sit back, relax and get ready to pee your pants from laughing so hard. It's not that it's two men dancing together... whatever floats your boat... it's that they have matching necklaces, coordinating costumes, and the flair of spicey flamingo dancers. It's a treat. Enjoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH7sa65HkVk

Bum Bum Bum... It's that time of year again!

If you have been blogging with me for a while then you would know that I enjoy dancing. Hence, the reason I do an annual (starting last year) update on So You Think You Can Dance kick offs. Now, considering the show began last week and we are still in the dreary time of bloopers and horrible try-outs, I do not have any kick-offs to update on. However, I do have some pictures, perhaps videos (if I can get them to work), of my favorite try-outs. I hope you all keep track with me on the greatest show ever made! Taylor out...

Alpine Hike

This last weekend was so much fun! Ryan was able to come to Alpine with me and visit! We ate good food, played a lot of Wii and just relaxed. Well, one afternoon we decided to take a hike back behind the house and Nykki decided that she may need her "fairy book" just in case we found some fairies. Well lo and behold, we found fairies! My eyes were not as good as Nykki's and I failed to see any of the fairies. But according to Nykki they were everywhere! Darn my non-fairy seeing eyes! Anyway, here are a couple of pictures from the hike. Enjoy!

Nykki's Song

This past weekend I went home to relax and hang out with the fam. Well, the week before I got there Nykki's school had a fine arts night. They were able to show off their piano skills, their poetry packets made earlier in the year and they also sang songs. One of the songs they sang was, "Fifty Nifty United States". Unfortunately, I had to work and I wasn't able to make it to this fine arts night, so I asked Nykki if she would give me a little tid-bit of what went on that night. This is what I got....

EAC Graduation...

Well, I finally did it. I proudly walked across the stage, shook a hand or two, and received my Associate Degree in General Studies from Eastern Arizona College. Whoo hoooo!!!!! One step closer to getting my next degree. It's all about those baby steps.

Thanks for everyone that came! You all are so great and I'm very sorry you had to sit through the long ceremony. But it made me feel very special that you were there for me! Love you all!

Phoenix Zoo Trip

This is for you Cori. I'm finally blogging!

Here are some pictures from a couple of weekends ago. It was my brother's wedding so we all spent a couple of nights in Phoenix. The day before his wedding we all decided we wanted to check out the Phoenix Zoo and we knew that Taiz, Tuf, and Nyk would love it. I don't have that many pictures... but it's the thought that counts, right?

Nykki and I with the cute giraffes.

King Julian!
"Shh! We're hiding. Be quiet everyone. That includes me. Shh! Who's making that noise? Oh, it's me again... "
And he actually said that.

This was the famous "Poo Poo Monkey" as Taiz calls it. They forgot to wipe their buns. Out of all the animals at the zoo, the poo poo monkey was her favorite. What a special girl.

This thing was my favorite! It was called a Maned Wolf. They said it was a fox on stilts. It was so freaky and huge! You can't tell in this picture, but it looked like it stood about 4 feet tall. It was very, very creepy... but my favorite! It remined me of the wearwolves on Twilight. I know, I know... I need a life.

This little fella stood here for about 10 minutes just staring at me like this. Then he rested his chin on the bench and stared some more. Weird goat.
Well, that's all! Look for Cori's blog for better pictures and better stories of the zoo trip. lol. My blog is so lame sometimes.

More to Come

So, I finally have something to blog about. But i'm at work and my camera is at home. So nothing yet. You all will just have to sit tight and wait it out. I know you are all so excited!
